Friday includes creative workshops for schools and two film screening sessions featuring short films by neurodivergent and learning disabled filmmakers from around the world. All film screenings are open to everyone.

How do you want to be counted?

Consensus is a creative workshop inspired by the 2026 Australian Census.

Participants will explore identity, belonging, community and personal expression through art and animation.

Working with the SDSW creative team and guest artist CAPITAL WASTE, participants can experiment with drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, digital media and animation.

Individual artworks will be transformed into short animations and brought together into one larger collaborative screen artwork.

No previous arts experience is required.

The workshop is designed to be flexible and accessible. Participants can choose hands-on or digital activities, work individually or collaboratively, and participate at a pace that suits their needs.
